# Salesforce work, scoped honestly.

Nocona Consulting runs four kinds of Salesforce engagement for home services companies. Most clients start with the first one, because most of the expensive mistakes get made before anything is built.

1. 01

    ## Discovery & architecture

    Typical duration · 2–4 weeks

A structured read of how the business actually runs, turned into an object model and a build plan you can hand to anyone.

    - Stakeholder interviews across office, dispatch, and field
    - Line-of-business mapping — which objects carry which work
    - Edition, license, and add-on scoping with real numbers
    - Reporting spine: where revenue is counted, once
    - A written architecture doc with decisions, risks, and open questions

2. 02

    ## Field Service implementation

    Typical duration · 8–16 weeks

The full Field Service foundation, built on the standard object chain, configured around your dispatch reality rather than the demo org.

    - Work Order → Work Order Line Item → Service Appointment → Assigned Resource
    - Service territories, operating hours, and scheduling policies
    - Work types, skills, and crew modeling
    - Products Consumed and Expenses for job costing
    - Mobile app configuration and field rollout
    - Invoicing path — Salesforce Billing, a connector, or an accounting integration

3. 03

    ## Org rescue & re-platform

    Typical duration · 4–10 weeks

For orgs built by someone else, or shops outgrowing Jobber, ServiceTitan, or a folder of spreadsheets.

    - Full metadata audit — what exists, what is used, what is dead
    - Technical debt register with a prioritized paydown order
    - Migration plan with data mapping and a cutover sequence
    - Move to SFDX and source control so changes stop being invisible
    - Handover documentation your admin can actually maintain

4. 04

    ## Fractional Salesforce architect

    Typical duration · Ongoing

A standing retainer for companies that need architectural judgment more often than they need a full-time hire.

    - Design review before anything gets built
    - Release management and deployment discipline
    - Admin mentoring and pairing
    - Roadmap and license planning ahead of renewals

## What I do not do

- Marketing Cloud campaigns and email design
- Pure Salesforce staff augmentation by the hour
- Orgs where the real problem is that nobody has decided how the business runs

If you ask for one of these I will say so and, where I can, point you at someone who does it well.

## FAQ

### How long does a Salesforce Field Service implementation take?

A Salesforce Field Service implementation at Nocona Consulting typically runs eight to sixteen weeks, following a two-to-four week discovery and architecture engagement. The range is driven by how many lines of business are in scope, how clean the existing data is, and how much of the scheduling model is non-standard. Discovery is sold separately so the build is quoted against a written architecture rather than an estimate.

### Can you fix a Salesforce org that someone else built?

Yes — that is the org rescue engagement, typically four to ten weeks. It starts with a full metadata audit of what exists, what is actually used, and what is dead, then produces a technical debt register with a prioritised paydown order. Orgs are moved onto SFDX and source control as part of the work, so future changes stop being invisible.

### Do you migrate from Jobber or ServiceTitan to Salesforce?

Yes. Migration is part of the org rescue and re-platform engagement, and includes data mapping, a cutover sequence, and handover documentation an in-house admin can maintain. The first question asked is still whether the migration is worth doing — for some shops the honest answer is that the existing tool fits and the move is not justified yet.

### What is a fractional Salesforce architect?

A fractional Salesforce architect is an ongoing retainer rather than a project: design review before anything gets built, release management and deployment discipline, mentoring for an in-house admin, and roadmap and license planning ahead of renewals. It suits companies that need architectural judgment more often than they need a full-time hire.

### What does Nocona Consulting not do?

Nocona Consulting does not do Marketing Cloud campaign work or email design, and does not take pure hourly Salesforce staff augmentation. It also declines engagements where the underlying problem is that the business has not decided how it runs, because Salesforce will faithfully implement an ambiguous answer.
